Sevgi was employed as an intern in the vineyard working closely with our vineyard-manager. She participated in all steps of viticulture during the period of vegetation including pruning, shoot thinning, shoot positioning, trimming, fruit thinning and picking. During harvest she also worked in the cellar. She was also involved in the internal logistics and all shipping. Additionally, she took part in numerous tastings and she organized an internal tasting about “Riesling around the World” where she showed her tasting skills and knowledge about Riesling. Sevgi worked concentrated and focused and was always in time. We appreciated her reliable character. Her optimistic and cheerful attitude carried across the entire team.
Sevgi is a very knowledgable oenologist. She has been working with Le Petit Pois staff, holding wine tasting sessions with success. She has also managed a full analysis of our wine list, helping us to set out a detailed technical and aromatic descriptions. She is definitely passionate about her wine!
Sevgi is a delightful young lady and everyone liked her very much. Her powerpoint presentation about Turkish wines was really helpful because everything was written down on the screen.
There was a lot of interaction between presenter and listeners and we had questions being asked all the time and Sevgi had all the information that was required to give full and interesting answers. She has a lot of background knowledge and by us asking questions this all came out. We were all very pleased with the evening and to have met her.
We had a good evening, we all thought the wines at the tasting were extremely good, and the idea of a wine society is to further one’s education regarding wines from up and coming countries such as Turkey, and members wanted to know more about obtaining them in the U.K.
A wonderful, knowledgeable, personable host. Sevgi shared her expertise generously and her presentation was very well put together.
I had never attended a wine tasting course but had always wanted to. Delighted to see it being held in my own city in Galway! The value for money was unbelievable. Not only did I learn about various wines and regions but also some of the science and there really was something (and wine) for everyone.
It was a great social event where we made friends with those around us and learned a great deal which will be applied to our lives right away! I highly recommend as a day/night out, on your own, with friends or a date, it would suit anyone, especially those interested in wine.
Sevgi is very knowledgeable and presented her information well, in a very enthusiastic way and is obviously very passionate about the topic and provided a nice array of wines for discussion with the group. I came away from the evening much smarter than I arrived, and Sevgi’s approach and personality made for an unpretentious and welcoming atmosphere. I would have no problem recommending this course to any of my friends.
Lovely afternoon/evening spend tasting and learning. Recommend to anyone who are interested in wine.
It was a really good wine training & tasting event. The oenologist was lovely. Firstly, we’ve got information about the wine history, wine and food pairings, wine faults. Then she showed us headlines of wine tasting. We have tasted 8 wines, red and white (4 of each) and talked about them with Sevgi’s guidance. If you are living in Galway, it is a good activity to learn more about wine, meet with new people and have good time. Highly recommended!
I was at the “A Wine Idea” last Saturday in Galway. It was a really enjoyable experience and the lady hosting was very knowledgeable and fun to listen to. We enjoyed the experience so much and after a few wines everyone relaxed and chatted together. Hoping to attend another one in the very near future. Well done A wine idea!
This was my first wine tasting event and I really enjoyed it. The Venue was intimate and ideal for our group size of 12. Very relaxed, interesting, and fun. Tried 8 wines which were all lovely and to finish off we enjoyed delicious beautifully presented cheese boards. Well done to our host Sevgi. Looking forward to the next event.
Wonderful wine tasting event!!
I attended the Spain and Portugal wine tasting event hosted by A Wine Idea. Sevgi was extremely knowledgeable in the wine making process and provided loads of tips about choosing and enjoying wine ☺️
I got to experience and learn about many of the lesser known grapes from Spain and Portugal.
The venue was perfectly suited to the event- intimate and atmospheric!!
I would highly recommend an event hosted by A wine idea and will be attending another one in the near future!
Fantastic evening spent learning about wine and why I like the wine I like. Fun learning experience shared with friends and family. Our host Sevgi was friendly and extremely knowledgeable and most importantly able to make the experience fun. Would highly recommend this experience to anyone, not just wine lovers, looking for something a little different to do in Galway. Loved it👌

A Wine Idea is such an enjoyable evening. It was my first wine tasting and I found it both informative and fun. We tried different wines from all over the world and also had a beautiful cheese board.
Galway is lucky to have someone as knowledgeable and professional as Sevgi to host this relaxed evening. Would highly recommend it!
It was a fun and interactive wine tasting. The wine selection was very tasty. Sevgi made the experience fun. Would definitely recommend.
A wine idea is a great way to enjoy time with your friends while learning about different types of wines from all over the world. Sevgi is a fantastic presenter and is extremely knowledgeable on the history, production and tasting of wine. My friends and I had a great experience at this wine tasting and could not recommend a wine idea enough!
Not just for the wine lover and a great way to spend an evening in Galway city. I have always wanted to attend something like this and so happy we finally got to. Great value for money and loved the whole experience, and an experience it is.
First of all I really liked the venue, we had 7 in our group but it could easily cater for a larger group while remaining personal and intimate. The vibe is casual, welcoming and relaxed.
Throughout the evening we were expertly taken on a journey by our engaging and informative host Sevgi. It is a great and fun introduction to wine tasting, you get lead through the process, science and production of the wines and the wine regions where your selected wines come from via a well put together presentation, while also being guided through the visual appearance, palate and smell of each.
I really cannot reccomend ‘From grape to glass’ by ‘A Wine Idea’ more highly. Sevgi is obviously very passionate about what she does, her wealth of knowledge, enthusiasm and personality is infectious. The selection of wines was amazing and we were also given 2 beautiful cheese boards to share and enjoy, which was a very nice touch. A great night and great value for money which I would recommend to anyone. Really look forward to attending my next event with ‘A Wine Idea’.
I have attended a number of wine tastings around the world. I really enjoyed Sevgi because I enjoy the education that compliments the tasting! She is smart and fun. It was a great night – thanks!
I was in the Sherry Masterclass at the Black Gate tonight and I have to say I was delighted. The experience tasting and talking about the wine it was really interesting and fun..I’m sure I’ll repeat it and I highly recommend it!!
Thanks so much Sevgi!!!
I went to the Sherry Tasting event and had a great evening! It was very interesting to learn about how sherry is made and taste the various sherries as she spoke about them. Sevgi is very knowledgeable about oenology and her enthusiasm is infectious!
I have participated in couple of wine idea pop-ups and enjoyed them all . She is quite knowledgeable and organized. It’s one of the few wine tastings that I actually learned something. She masterfully balances the info and fun aspect. If you are in Galway for one of her classes, don’t miss the chance.
P.S: she has a great taste and most wines are quite nice.
