Sevgi was employed as an intern in the vineyard working closely with our vineyard-manager. She participated in all steps of viticulture during the period of vegetation including pruning, shoot thinning, shoot positioning, trimming, fruit thinning and picking. During harvest she also worked in the cellar. She was also involved in the internal logistics and all shipping. Additionally, she took part in numerous tastings and she organized an internal tasting about “Riesling around the World” where she showed her tasting skills and knowledge about Riesling. Sevgi worked concentrated and focused and was always in time. We appreciated her reliable character. Her optimistic and cheerful attitude carried across the entire team.
Sevgi is a very knowledgable oenologist. She has been working with Le Petit Pois staff, holding wine tasting sessions with success. She has also managed a full analysis of our wine list, helping us to set out a detailed technical and aromatic descriptions. She is definitely passionate about her wine!
Sevgi is a delightful young lady and everyone liked her very much. Her powerpoint presentation about Turkish wines was really helpful because everything was written down on the screen.
There was a lot of interaction between presenter and listeners and we had questions being asked all the time and Sevgi had all the information that was required to give full and interesting answers. She has a lot of background knowledge and by us asking questions this all came out. We were all very pleased with the evening and to have met her.
We had a good evening, we all thought the wines at the tasting were extremely good, and the idea of a wine society is to further one’s education regarding wines from up and coming countries such as Turkey, and members wanted to know more about obtaining them in the U.K.
A wonderful, knowledgeable, personable host. Sevgi shared her expertise generously and her presentation was very well put together.
I had never attended a wine tasting course but had always wanted to. Delighted to see it being held in my own city in Galway! The value for money was unbelievable. Not only did I learn about various wines and regions but also some of the science and there really was something (and wine) for everyone.
It was a great social event where we made friends with those around us and learned a great deal which will be applied to our lives right away! I highly recommend as a day/night out, on your own, with friends or a date, it would suit anyone, especially those interested in wine.
Sevgi is very knowledgeable and presented her information well, in a very enthusiastic way and is obviously very passionate about the topic and provided a nice array of wines for discussion with the group. I came away from the evening much smarter than I arrived, and Sevgi’s approach and personality made for an unpretentious and welcoming atmosphere. I would have no problem recommending this course to any of my friends.
Lovely afternoon/evening spend tasting and learning. Recommend to anyone who are interested in wine.
It was a really good wine training & tasting event. The oenologist was lovely. Firstly, we’ve got information about the wine history, wine and food pairings, wine faults. Then she showed us headlines of wine tasting. We have tasted 8 wines, red and white (4 of each) and talked about them with Sevgi’s guidance. If you are living in Galway, it is a good activity to learn more about wine, meet with new people and have good time. Highly recommended!
I was at the “A Wine Idea” last Saturday in Galway. It was a really enjoyable experience and the lady hosting was very knowledgeable and fun to listen to. We enjoyed the experience so much and after a few wines everyone relaxed and chatted together. Hoping to attend another one in the very near future. Well done A wine idea!
This was my first wine tasting event and I really enjoyed it. The Venue was intimate and ideal for our group size of 12. Very relaxed, interesting, and fun. Tried 8 wines which were all lovely and to finish off we enjoyed delicious beautifully presented cheese boards. Well done to our host Sevgi. Looking forward to the next event.
