My passion for wine begun while I was studying food engineering in one of the wine-producing regions of my native Turkey. Following my graduation, I chased my dreams and started to work as a winemaker in my home country. I obtained my MSc in Oenology & Viticulture from Montpellier SupAgro and Hochschule Geisenheim University. Mosel in Germany, one of the most respected wine regions, is where I experienced the practice of growing grapes in the extreme steep-slope vineyards. Later, I conducted research for my postgraduate study about the wine market in Ireland.
Currently, I provide wine tastings, workshops and consultancy through my company A WINE IDEA based in Galway.
